In collaboration with the great dutch drum legend Eric Ineke, we present ourselves on a musical platform where we are able to express through improvisation in its purest state. This is the main objective for the O3 Jazz Trio.

The musician’s roles in a jazz band break conventional boundaries, allowing a constant dialog between the members of the group. We consider the saxophone, bass and drums to be of equal significance in their capabilities to perform any of the three music layers within the pieces; melody, rhythm and harmony.

Opening is our first album. It was recorded and mixed in Valencia, Spain, and released by the spanish label Sedajazz Records.

It presents two clearly defined sections; the first five tracks are played in trio, and the final two tracks are played in sextet.

The trio repertoire pieces are all original compositions. Some of them are inspired by the great music of Coltrane and Ornette Coleman, and others are based on piano pieces from great classical music composers. The music produced in sextet are originals from the standard jazz repertoire and are played with the characteristic approach of great jazz ensembles like Jazz Messengers and Jazztet. It was a pleasure to count with the participation of Voro Garcia (tp), Toni Belenguer (tb) and Santi Navalon (pn) for these tunes.
